Netac launched its own OnlyDisk Controller "U-Chip I"

"U-Chip I" is the first SoC USB Flash Drive controller in the world, with Utra-stable technology inside. As the first product developed solely in China and possessing completely independent intellectual property, the flash memory storage disk controller IC is also the smallest and most powerful one for flash disk in the market. As the leading provider in the global mobile storage industry, Netac Technology Co., Ltd. launched the "U-Chip I" in Beijing on July 30, 2003.

As a SoC chip, "U-Chip I" integrates USB1.1 PHY, USB function controller, MCU, DMA controller, NAND flash memory and ECC Controller on 7mm x 7mm area. It is the first one with built-in triple bootable functions (USB FDD/HDD/ZIP), which is supporting disk-switching between two partitions of OnlyDisk, embedded "Ultra Stable" technology and meet "U-SAFE" standards requirement which stands for Ultra-Stable Algorithm for Flash Equipment, to make sure that the data on the disk is very stable and safe. "U-Chip I" adopts 0.35um semiconductor processing technology. It supports a various capacities from 16MB to 1GB.
