Netac Patent Lawsuit Attracts Media Eyeballs

In less than a month after Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court ruled for first instance that Beijing Huaqi Information and Digital Technology Co Ltd (aigo brand holder) and Fu Kuang Hui Electronic Co., Ltd (Shenzhen), the factory of TAI GUEN ENTERPRISE CO. LTD (TGE group) violated Netac Technology Co Ltd's patent on USB flash drives, the Mass Media, TVs, newspapers, websites released tons of news, reports, features, and analysis in China's very first Intellectual Property (IP) protection lawsuit in Information Technology (IT).
On June 11th, hours after Netac news conference release, CCTV, (China Central Television), China's national and most authoritative TV, broadcasted in channel 2 that "the trial of this case will be the model that IP lawsuits in China should follow§ and ※will continue its following report in this issue".
China Business Weekly, a major English Newspaper in China, addressed the news with the title "Patent fight heats up". Other newspapers, either local Shenzhen newspapers or national newspapers also paid attention to the case.
China's dominant and NASDAQ Listed websites, www.sina.com, www.sohu.com, along with China's most influential IT website www.pconline.com made columns to report this issue. Profiles of both parties, history of lawsuit, future influences, etc are covered in all possible details and lengths. Other influential websites, including www.chinabyte.com, www.21cn.com, www.enet.com, www.chinanews.com.cn, www.yahoo.com.cn, www.People.com.cn etc, also reported the ruling from different perspective. As a result, heated discussions in IP protection is also widely carried out among Internet surfers.
The Mass Media, will probably focus in the lawsuit again in a few months, as Huaqi appealed the ruling to the Guangdong Supreme People's Court, which, as said by many legal experts, "stands little chance to turn the ruling over".
